Scott took the gamble on this East Ocean View condo because he saw something bigger than the dated property in front of him: location. Tucked along the Norfolk waterfront, East Ocean View offers the beach lifestyle buyers love at a price point that can be significantly more approachable than nearby areas like Chicks Beach. Of course, Kristyn eventually had to find out and then came the small matter of actually turning Scott’s surprise purchase into a successful flip.

The renovation became a lesson in patience, from kitchen cabinet shipping delays to their weekly “blue tape” walkthroughs, where Scott and Kristyn mark everything that still needs attention before calling a project finished. But this condo also raised an interesting question: Do they even want to sell it? With the beach nearby and East Ocean View continuing to attract attention, keeping the property as a furnished midterm rental became a very real possibility.
